Urhobo Association of
Georgia
Welcome to UAG !!!
Welcome to the web portal of the Urhobo
Association of Georgia (aka UAG). Our association was
established almost two decades ago, to cat er
to the needs and welfare of all Urhobo sons and daughters in
Georgia.
Our website serves as a learning place about Urhobo - the
people, culture and history. We plan events and meetings
throughout the year and we interact closely with related
organizations.
This organization is formed for the following
reasons:
 | To provide the lynchpin or bridge among all
the Urhobo people in Georgia. We need to operate as a corporate
body rather than individually. |
 | To provide the avenue for bringing together
the activities and efforts of the all Urhobos, and to bring
about a holistic fulfillment of the aspirations of the Urhobo
people. |
 | To provide avenue for enlightenment/education
of the people and create ample awareness for the people from all
aspects and works of life within the Urhobo people and external
organizations |
 | To provide a transition between our present
leaders and the generations following them so that there is a
"shadowing" or "mentoring" of younger generations of
Urhobos, to preserve the Urhobo culture for posterity |
 | To provide avenue that fosters a holistic
Social, Political, Economical and Cultural development of Urhobo
people in the Urhobo land and the Diaspora. |

We invite you to explore our website to learn
more about us. Thanks for stopping by. Please visit us often for
updates, events and well-wishes.

The Urhobo nation is made up
of twenty sub-groups. The Urhobos are noted for having their
own unique style of speaking Nigerian Pidgin English. Since
their language is very demonstrative that translates into
their style of speaking English and Pidgin English. As a
result of their unique language style, their names are also
unique. |
