The Uma Gbae N’Edo club of Atlanta’s mission
is primarily to preserve and promote the
cultural heritage of the people. To
this
end, we will leave no stone unturned in our
endeavor to propagate the history of the
Benin Kingdom; learn, speak and teach the
Edo language, and promote the culture of
this unique people to all the Edo’s at home
and in the diaspora. The Uma Gbae N’Edo club
was formed by a group of friends; therefore,
its motive is to serve the best interest of
its members, establish bond among members,
assist others (Edo citizens in
particular) and ensure that we are each
other’s keeper.
-
To foster the spirit of oneness and
cooperation among the club members.
-
To give financial and moral support to
any of our members that may be in need.
-
To cultivate and enhance good
relationship with other Edo people and
clubs in Atlanta and the United States
of America.
-
To establish and nurture a new culture
amongst the Edos that unity is not an
aberration among us. In other words it
is an achievable possibility that ‘UMA
can “GBA N`EDO”
-
To build a cultural center that will
house and exhibit the rich art and craft
of the people, and a school that will
teach the Edo language and culture.
-
To inculcate the
ideology of "all for one and one for
all", so that we can collectively
achieve our motto which is “NIMA GHAMA”.
